Former member of the House of Representatives, Farah Dagogo, has praised the recent Supreme Court judgment affirming David Mark's leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that the decision has significantly enhanced public confidence in the Nigerian judiciary. In his reaction, Dagogo emphasized that the apex court's ruling reinforces trust in the country's legal system and reflects what he termed the will of the people at a time when demands for political and economic reforms are growing.
Impact on ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections
Dagogo noted that the outcome of the case has further strengthened the ADC's position as a credible opposition platform ahead of the 2027 general elections. He pointed to renewed public enthusiasm following the verdict, adding that the party now stands at a critical juncture, bearing the expectations of millions of Nigerians facing economic hardship, insecurity, and governance challenges. He urged stakeholders within the party to close ranks and work towards building a united front capable of offering practical solutions to the country's problems.
Call for Unity and Collaboration
“It is now essential for the ADC to prioritize unity and collaboration. The party must avoid internal conflicts and focus on assembling a strong team of capable leaders who can address Nigeria’s pressing challenges,” Dagogo said. He added that the ADC has a unique opportunity to consolidate growing public trust and position itself as a viable alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape as preparations intensify for the next election cycle.
Dagogo also appreciated Nigerians for their support during the legal dispute, describing the Supreme Court ruling as both a legal victory and a call to responsibility. “The judgment represents a victory for the will of the people and a renewed opportunity for the ADC to advance its mission as a leading opposition force. Aspirants must place national interest above personal ambition,” he added. He further urged the party to justify the confidence reposed in it, noting that reactions to the judgment underscore a growing desire among Nigerians for accountable leadership and meaningful change.
