Akinola, a legal practitioner and tax expert, currently serves as a part-time Commissioner at the Tax Appeal Tribunal (TAT) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This role places him within the country's fiscal and quasi-judicial framework. He brings over two decades of experience spanning legal practice, taxation, banking, and media, having worked with firms such as Olaniwun Ajayi LP and George Etomi & Partners before founding Stonewaters Law Office.

Media and Legal Career

Beyond his legal career, Akinola previously worked as a financial correspondent with The Comet and The Nation. He currently serves as editor of the Federal Tax Law Reports, contributing to analysis of Supreme Court decisions on tax matters. His political experience includes roles within the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alliance for Democracy (AD), and the APC, as well as serving as Deputy National Legal Adviser to a Presidential Independent Campaign Council and Deputy National Legal Director in a presidential campaign structure.
