The All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully conducted its primary elections for the Delta State House of Assembly across all 29 state constituencies, selecting candidates who will represent the party in the 2027 general elections. The exercise was marked by peace, credibility, and transparency.
Emomotimi Guwor, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, emerged as the party's candidate for the Warri South-West Constituency. In Isoko North Constituency, Orobosa Ashakah secured the APC ticket, while Lucky Idhoveh won the party's candidacy for Isoko South Constituency I. Incumbent lawmaker Ferguson Onwo, representing Isoko South Constituency II, also secured the APC ticket to seek re-election.
In Warri North Constituency, Orode Uduaghan emerged victorious. Incumbent lawmakers Augustine Uroye and Benson Obire secured tickets for Warri South Constituencies I and II, respectively. ThankGod Trakiriowei won the Patani Constituency ticket, while Funyei Manager emerged victorious in Bomadi Constituency. Alapala Anthony Ebitonmo and Perez Oloye also secured APC tickets for Burutu Constituencies I and II, respectively, among other candidates.
Party supporters across the constituencies celebrated the emergence of the candidates as the APC concluded its state Assembly primaries and shifted focus towards preparations for the 2027 general elections in Delta State.
Meanwhile, the APC House of Assembly Primaries Committee, set up by the party's National Working Committee (NWC) for Delta State, commended the party's leadership in the state, describing it as mature, people-oriented, and focused on victory ahead of future elections.
Also, the APC House of Assembly primaries held peacefully across the 26 state constituencies in Ogun State yesterday. It was gathered that the exercise was orderly, transparent, and devoid of violence, with party members participating actively in the direct primaries.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after participating in the House of Assembly primary election at Ward 3, Iperu, in Ikenne Local Council Area, Governor Dapo Abiodun reaffirmed his administration's commitment to sustaining peace and political harmony in the state. The governor described the primary election as peaceful, transparent, and a true reflection of internal democracy within the party, stressing the need for peace and harmony at a time when political activities have intensified across the country.
In Bayelsa State, Governor Douye Diri attributed the peaceful primaries of the APC in the state to the adherence to rules by the party's faithful. Speaking in his hometown, Sampou, in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Council Area yesterday during the State House of Assembly primary election, Diri lauded party members for their orderly conduct. According to him, their cooperation has contributed to rancour-free primaries across the state. He urged those who have registered as members of the APC but have yet to get their registration slip to be patient, assuring them that they will get it.
