The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced an extension of the deadline for the collection of nomination forms, giving aspirants additional time to obtain the necessary documents. The decision was disclosed by a party official on Monday, May 4, 2026, as part of a revised timetable ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Revised Timetable for Form Sales and Submission
Under the updated schedule, the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will now close at midnight on May 6, 2026. Submission of completed forms has been extended to midnight on May 7, 2026. The party stated that the changes were necessary to accommodate ongoing consultations and ensure broader participation among aspirants seeking various elective positions.
Screening and Publication of Aspirants
Screening of aspirants is set to begin on May 8 and will run through May 12, 2026. The party plans to release the list of cleared candidates a day later, on May 13, 2026. The revised timeline is expected to shape preparations ahead of the party's primaries, as stakeholders engage in internal alignments.
The statement, signed by Felix Morka, the party's National Publicity Secretary, urged aspirants to make use of the extended window while adhering strictly to guidelines. The APC emphasized that the extension provides additional room for aspirants finalizing their documentation.
This adjustment comes as Nigeria's ruling party gears up for the 2027 elections, with the new timetable designed to facilitate a smoother nomination process. Aspirants are advised to complete their submissions promptly to avoid any last-minute issues.
