Bauchi APC dismisses defections as insignificant

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has declared that the party remains united and focused on securing victory in the 2027 general elections, despite recent defections by some members. The state Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Umar Suleiman, made this known in a statement issued on Thursday in Bauchi, describing the defections as a normal political occurrence that would not affect the party's strength.

According to Suleiman, the APC in Bauchi is solid and has a strong structure across the 20 local government areas of the state. He noted that the party has been receiving new members daily, while those leaving are doing so for personal reasons and do not represent the general feeling of the party's supporters.

Party remains strong despite exit of some members

The statement came in response to the recent defection of some APC members to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties. Suleiman said the APC is not threatened by the exits, as the party's focus is on delivering good governance and development to the people of Bauchi State.

“The APC in Bauchi State is united and focused on winning the 2027 elections. The defections we have witnessed are not a sign of weakness but a normal political realignment. Our party is growing stronger by the day, and we are confident of victory in the next election,” Suleiman said.

APC leadership appeals for unity and support

The party's leadership has called on all members to remain steadfast and work together for the success of the party. Suleiman emphasized that the APC administration under Governor Bala Mohammed has performed well, but the party aims to reclaim the state in 2027.

“We are appealing to our members to remain united and support the party's leadership. The APC is the party to beat in 2027, and we are working hard to ensure that we emerge victorious,” he added.

The APC in Bauchi State has been facing internal challenges, but the leadership insists that the party remains strong and capable of winning elections. Suleiman urged members to disregard any rumors of a split within the party and focus on the goal of capturing power in 2027.
