Ganduje Leads Kano APC to Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Amid Key Absences
Ganduje mobilizes Kano APC for Tinubu 2027 bid

Kano APC Unites Behind Tinubu for 2027 Presidency

In a significant political development, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has spearheaded a major mobilization effort in Kano State to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party's exclusive candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

The resolution emerged following a three-day emergency meeting that brought together APC caucus members from across all 44 local government areas and 484 wards of Kano State. The expanded stakeholders gathering culminated in a unanimous decision to throw the state's full weight behind President Tinubu's potential re-election bid.

Notable Absences Raise Eyebrows

Despite the show of unity, the meeting was marked by the conspicuous absence of several key political figures from Kano. Among the missing were Deputy President of the Senate Barau Jibrin, who represents Kano North Senatorial District, and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.

Other notable absentees included Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory Dr Mariya Bunkure, Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency representative Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa, and Kibiya/Rano/Bunkure Federal Constituency member Alhassan Rurum. At the time the meeting concluded, no official explanations had been provided for their non-attendance.

Ganduje's Declaration of Party Unity

Addressing party faithful at his Miyangu Road residence in GRA, Kano, the former governor declared that the ruling party remains an indivisible entity with singular focus in the state. Ganduje emphasized that the APC in Kano is actively mobilizing support for the Federal Government under President Tinubu's leadership.

"We are fully committed to the President's Renewed Hope agenda and are working tirelessly to ensure that Kano State remains a stronghold for our party," Ganduje stated during the gathering at his private residence.

The expanded stakeholders meeting featured prominent party leaders including the 2023 governorship candidate Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and his running mate Sule Garo, alongside former Governor Kabir Gaya and state party Chairman Prince Abdullahi Abbas.

This development signals a crucial consolidation of support for President Tinubu within one of Nigeria's most politically significant states, even as the absence of key stakeholders suggests potential underlying tensions within the Kano APC structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
