Kpautagi Wins Niger ADC Guber Primary

The Niger State gubernatorial primary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) concluded with Dr. Mohammed Kpautagi Mohammed declared the winner after initial delays caused by communication issues. The tension-filled exercise saw Kpautagi secure a decisive victory.

Ibrahim Mohammed, the State Returning Officer and Secretary of the ADC Primary Election Committee, announced the results at the IBB Guest House in Minna. According to the official tally, Dr. Kpautagi garnered 67,924 votes across the 25 local government areas of the state, defeating his closest rival, Alhaji Idris Usman, who polled 27,769 votes.

Senatorial and House of Representatives Results

The returning officer also declared winners for the three senatorial districts. In Niger North, Alhaji Shehu Mohammed emerged victorious, while Muktar Ahmed won unopposed in Niger East. For Niger South, Baba Shehu Agaie, a former deputy leader of the House of Representatives, was declared the winner.

For the House of Representatives, the following candidates won the ADC primaries: Mohammed Abubakar (Bida/Gbako/Katcha), Ado K. Abubakar (Tafa/Gurara/Suleja), Mohammed Ibrahim Abubakar (Mashegu/Wushishi/Kontagora/Mariga), Abubakar M. Takuma (Lavun/Edati/Mokwa), Mohammed Nazir Abdullahi (Magama/Rijau), Shitu Adamu Evuti (Lapai/Agaie), Jailani Inuwa (Agwara/Borgu), Doctor Alhaji Mohammed (Chanchaga), Abdulmali Kabir (Bosso/Paikoro), and Ismaila Ibrahim (Shiroro/Munya/Rafi).

House of Assembly Winners

The ADC primary winners for the Niger State House of Assembly across the 25 local government areas include: Nasiru Waziri (Kontagora One), Bawa Joshua (Munya), Auta Solomon (Tafa), Nuhu Ibrahim (Gurara), Abdullahi Imam (Wushishi), Isah Mohammed (Edati), Abubakar Garba Mohammed (Suleja), Mairogo Hamisu (Borgu), Idris Ibrahim (Shiroro), and Riyanu Suleiman (Kontagora Two).

Other winners are: Abdulwahid Ahmed (Chanchaga), Shehu Haruna Marfa (Mariga), Mohammed Baba Sani (Mokwa), Yusuf Baba (Lavun), Mohammed Umar (Katcha), Adamu M. Wonigi (Agaie), Haruna Labaran (Rafi), Yusuf Aliyu (Bosso), Baba Abubakar (Bida One), and Mustapha Shuaib (Bida Two).

Declaring the official results, the Niger State returning officer, Mohammed, stated that all candidates met the required conditions of the party constitution and guidelines for the elective offices.
