NDC Rising: Dickson Urges Nigerians to Ignore Political Noise

Senator Seriake Dickson has urged Nigerians to disregard what he described as “rumours, propaganda, and blackmail” against the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), insisting that the party’s growing national appeal is rooted in genuine public support.

Dickson Defends NDC Vision Amid Rising Momentum

Speaking on the party’s rapid expansion, Dickson expressed appreciation to citizens across the country, noting that their confidence has been central to the NDC’s transformation from an emerging platform into a significant political force. He described the recent influx of high-profile political actors into the party as a defining moment, characterising it as a strategic convergence of experienced leaders, grassroots mobilisers, and a new generation of voices united under one umbrella.

According to him, the NDC is being deliberately built as an ideological movement with long-term institutional strength, not just a political vehicle for immediate electoral gains. He said the vision is to establish a party structure capable of enduring beyond its founders and remaining relevant across generations.

Commitment to Inclusivity

Dickson also emphasised the party’s commitment to inclusivity, highlighting its focus on youth and women participation, as well as its openness to ordinary Nigerians and vulnerable groups. Providing historical context, he revealed that efforts to register the party date back to 2017, with initial approval reportedly granted by the Independent National Electoral Commission before the process was later suspended. He added that the party resumed its registration efforts once the window reopened, updating its submissions accordingly.

Staying Focused on the Bigger Picture

The former Bayelsa governor acknowledged that heightened attention often attracts political distractions but maintained that such challenges would not derail the party’s mission. “With my experience in politics, I understand that an ambitious project like this will attract distractions. Nigerians should remain focused on the bigger picture,” he said.

He concluded by calling on citizens to actively engage with the party’s activities, including registration and electoral participation, stressing that the broader goal is to rebuild the country through a disciplined, people-driven political platform.
