Accord Party gubernatorial aspirant in Taraba State, Professor Jerome Nyameh, has vowed to anchor his administration on merit, integrity, and patriotism if elected governor. Speaking during a political engagement in Jalingo, Professor Nyameh emphasized that he would not tolerate mediocrity or blind loyalty in government appointments, insisting that only competent individuals would be entrusted with leadership positions.
“One of the things I will not joke about when elected as Governor is the calibre of people I shall appoint to various positions. I don’t want to be surrounded by ‘yes sir, yes sir!’ types,” he stated. Drawing a comparison between governance and corporate leadership, the Accord Party candidate noted that just as successful CEOs carefully select employees to achieve measurable results, he intends to assemble a team capable of delivering real development to the people of Taraba State.
According to him, his administration would be guided by four core principles: competency, credibility, integrity, and patriotism. Professor Nyameh further assured residents that his vision is centered on purposeful leadership and transformative governance.
The statement, as observed by The Guardian, has continued to generate conversations among political observers and citizens ahead of the governorship race, with many viewing it as a strong call for professionalism and accountability in public service.
