APC Ondo Chair Defends Tinubu's 2027 Support Groups, Calls Them Legitimate
Ondo APC Chair: Tinubu's 2027 Support Groups Are Legitimate

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin, has issued a strong defence of the numerous support groups mobilising for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking to journalists in Akure on 15 December 2025, Adetimehin cautioned party leaders and members against misrepresenting the activities of these groups, insisting they are a legitimate and integral part of the party's outreach strategy.

Unity and Legitimacy: The Party's Stance on Support Groups

Adetimehin was unequivocal in his endorsement of the pro-Tinubu organisations operating within the state. He described them as pressure groups working loyally with and under the supervision of the party structure. "They are doing a lot to bring life to the party, and they are doing well. I commend them," the chairman stated, emphasising that the APC in Ondo State remains solidly behind President Tinubu.

He further stressed that internal cohesion is not optional but critical for the success of Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and the party's future electoral fortunes. "I will never allow the party to be Balkanised under my leadership. We must remain focused, avoid distractions, and work together to ensure the success of his programmes and the continued dominance of our party," Adetimehin declared.

Tinubu as a Divine Intervention for Nigeria

The APC chairman framed President Tinubu's leadership in profound terms, labelling him a "messiah" sent by God to transform Nigeria. Adetimehin argued that the President's emergence was divinely orchestrated to rescue the nation from years of economic and institutional decline.

Addressing the current economic climate, he likened the challenges to the birth pains of a new Nigeria. He pointed to specific indicators as evidence of progress, notably a significant drop in the price of staple foods. "Last year, a bag of rice sold for almost N120,000, but today you can go to the same market and buy a bag for about N51,000. The same applies to other food items. Gradually, prices are coming down," Adetimehin stated.

A Call for Patience and Continued Support

While acknowledging the difficulty of ongoing reforms, the party chairman insisted they are necessary for long-term national stability and growth. He urged Nigerians to exercise patience and continue supporting the President, assuring that policies such as fuel subsidy removal and tax reforms would yield positive results in due course.

"I thank God for President Tinubu’s life and for working tirelessly to make this country a better place to live. As you can see, the APC in Ondo State is well united," Adetimehin concluded, reinforcing the message of party solidarity behind the President's agenda for 2027 and beyond.
