Tajudeen Adefisoye, popularly known as Small Alhaji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirant for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in Ondo State, has strongly refuted reports claiming he was disqualified or not cleared to contest in the party’s primary process. He described such claims as “null, void, and of no effect.”
Statement Denouncing Disqualification
In a statement issued via his X handle and disseminated by his media team, Small Alhaji argued that the alleged disqualification contravened party guidelines, due process, and the fundamental principle of fair hearing. According to the statement, the party’s screening rules stipulate that any aspirant who is not cleared must be afforded an opportunity to appeal before a final decision is rendered. The statement insisted that this procedure was not followed in Adefisoye’s case.
Full Participation and Clearance
The media team emphasized that the politician fully participated in the screening exercise and was duly cleared as an aspirant. They added that he was neither formally invited for any appeal process nor notified of any valid disqualification prior to the election. “For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye remained a cleared aspirant and duly participated in the election conducted yesterday,” the statement read.
It further characterized any post-election claims of disqualification as inconsistent with party guidelines and therefore invalid. Small Alhaji noted that the election was conducted peacefully and stated that the official announcement of results is awaited.
