Oshiomhole: Atiku Failed to Fix PDP, Can't Fix Nigeria
Oshiomhole Questions Atiku's Capacity to Lead Nigeria

Oshiomhole Launches Scathing Attack on Atiku's Political Record

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has launched a strong criticism against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, questioning his capability to lead Nigeria effectively. The confrontation occurred during an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today program on Monday.

The former Edo State governor mocked Atiku's political history, pointing to what he described as the former vice president's inability to provide stable leadership within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Oshiomhole specifically highlighted Atiku's recent move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as evidence of his political instability.

Questioning Leadership Credentials

Oshiomhole, who previously served as national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), posed a critical question during the broadcast: "If Atiku, as a former vice-president under PDP, could not fix PDP, he could not reconstruct it, and he could not provide leadership and use his influence, which he had built, how can you lay claim to fix Nigeria?"

The senator recalled Atiku's political journey, noting that the former vice president had previously left the APC after failing to secure the party's presidential ticket. He emphasized that Atiku's return to the PDP demonstrated his commitment to the party only for electoral purposes.

Oshiomhole further elaborated on his position, stating: "He was once a member of the APC. He left because he lost the party's presidential ticket. He went back to the PDP. He's so much in love with the PDP, at least for the purpose of contesting election. He could not build PDP. So, if Atiku can't build the PDP that made him vice-president, he can't fix Nigeria."

Broader Criticism Extends to Amaechi

During the same television program, Oshiomhole also directed criticism toward former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi. He accused Amaechi of demonstrating poor judgment during his tenure, particularly referencing his handling of the Rivers State judiciary shutdown.

The senator specifically faulted Amaechi's management of the railway system, claiming the former minister misplaced national priorities. Oshiomhole questioned the logic behind constructing a railway line to Niger Republic while domestic routes remained underdeveloped.

"Look at the crisis in the railway system that he superintendent over for eight unbroken years. He was unable to get the priorities right, playing to the gallery. Now he rather constructed a rail, not to Kano, not to Port Harcourt, where he came from, but to Niger Republic. Which goods are we sending to Niger Republic?" Oshiomhole questioned.

He added that Amaechi enjoyed complete autonomy during his service under former President Muhammadu Buhari's administration, suggesting the former minister had ample opportunity to implement better policies.

The political developments come as Atiku joined the ADC just four months after resigning from the PDP, citing internal disputes within the opposition party as his reason for departure.
