The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has made a passionate appeal for unity and hope, directing its message to all Nigerians as the nation faces persistent trials. In a special Christmas reflection, the party's leadership called for a collective spirit to tackle the country's deep-seated issues.
Christmas as a Catalyst for National Cohesion
On 27 December 2025, the SDP's National Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, issued a statement titled “Nigeria’s Hope in Challenging Times: A Christmas Reflection.” He specifically urged the Christian community and all citizens to draw inspiration from the festive season to foster a stronger sense of togetherness and shared duty.
Gabam framed Christmas as a pivotal period that should motivate Nigerians to transcend their differences. He described the potential for every citizen to become a “beacon of hope and unity.” The chairman argued that the nation's multifaceted challenges, including insecurity and economic strain, demand a unified front and a common purpose to be successfully overcome.
