Kaduna Governor Uba Sani Unapologetic Over One-Party State Structure
Uba Sani Says No Apology for One-Party System in Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has firmly stated that the state currently has no opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and expressed no regret over the one-party system in the state. Speaking during a media tour of the state and other North-Western states, the governor praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for significant infrastructural investments in the north.

“That is the reason the whole of Kaduna State will forever be grateful to President Tinubu-led government. And I can assure you that Kaduna State as we speak has no opposition. That is the fact of the matter. Kaduna is a one-party state and I have no apology for that”, the governor said.

Sani also criticized those alleging poor performance of the administration in the north, maintaining that the north has benefited more than the south under President Tinubu. He recalled the sacrifices made by Tinubu and others, including himself, to entrench democracy in Nigeria, stressing that the opposition coalition is working to truncate democracy rather than develop it as they pretend.

“We know what people are fighting for political office but we also know they are fighting to truncate this democracy and that is the reason we have no option but to resist them. And the only way we can resist them is to continue to support President Bola Tinubu, who is the only person among them with political and democratic qualifications. Most of them are talking about democracy. What do they know about democracy? We were detained in Kaduna here by the military junta. I was in detention when former President Sanni Abacha died. I was only released because Abacha died. I know a lot of people are talking about Northern Nigeria. Let me make it clear to all of you. President Tinubu has done to the north more than any leader in the history of Nigeria and I can give you some facts.

“Yesterday, two major projects were approved for Kaduna. One is Light Rail, which is about 50 km corridor at the cost of N1 trillion and many people are talking about Tinubu supporting the south. Is Kaduna in the south? Also, the Federal Executive Council approved the construction of 122km Mandu to Birnin Gwari Road for about N178 billion. This is a road that was abandoned for over two decades”, Sani said.

The tour, organized by Renewed Hope Ambassadors, showcased critical road and rail infrastructure through the Federal Government Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund as well as those executed by the state government under Senator Sani's administration. According to the organizers, the tour aimed at presenting the media with empirical evidence of Tinubu’s government achievements.
