The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has officially endorsed the re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal for the 2027 general elections. This decision was announced in a communique issued after a high-level stakeholders' meeting held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Government House in Gusau.
Unity and Strategic Alignment
The meeting demonstrated unity, confidence, and strategic alignment, resolving that the people of Zamfara State, along with the entire APC structure in the state, unequivocally support President Tinubu's re-election. Stakeholders also endorsed ongoing reforms and commitments to security stabilization, economic recovery, and sustainable development.
Commitment to Governance Continuity
According to the communique, the collective endorsement reflects a shared resolve to consolidate ongoing gains, ensure continuity of governance, and strengthen the delivery of democratic dividends at both national and sub-national levels. The stakeholders pledged to work collectively and diligently towards the successful conduct of forthcoming party congresses and primary elections.
Peaceful and Transparent Processes
The stakeholders emphasized that all processes must be peaceful, transparent, inclusive, and conducted in strict compliance with the party's constitution and established guidelines. They pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization across all wards and local government areas to further strengthen the APC's presence.
Support for Renewed Hope Agenda
The meeting expressed strong support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government and resolved to align state-level policies, programs, and political messaging to reinforce its objectives of economic revitalization, social inclusion, and national security.
Addressing Security Challenges
Recognizing prevailing security challenges, particularly banditry and related criminal activities, stakeholders resolved to fully support security agencies operating within the state, strengthen collaboration between communities and security institutions, and promote intelligence sharing and civic responsibility as part of a whole-of-society approach to restoring peace and stability.
