ZLP Candidate Nkwoala Vows to Unseat Oborevwori in Delta 2027

The governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Delta State, Comrade Emeka Nkwoala (JP), has declared his intention to unseat Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 general election. He promised to surpass the current administration's achievements if elected.

Official Unveiling in Asaba

Nkwoala made the declaration on Wednesday during the party's governorship congress held in Asaba, the Delta State capital, where he was officially unveiled as the ZLP governorship candidate for the 2027 polls. Addressing party faithful and supporters at the event, Nkwoala expressed confidence in his chances of victory, citing his political experience as a former chairman of the Labour Party in Delta State and his leadership role within the Zenith Labour Party.

Vision for Delta State

He said the ZLP was fully prepared to challenge the ruling government and provide what he described as a more people-oriented administration capable of transforming the state beyond its current level of development. While acknowledging Governor Oborevwori's efforts in infrastructural development, particularly the engagement of construction giant Julius Berger for major road, bridge, and flyover projects across the state, Nkwoala insisted that his administration would deliver even greater results with the resources available to Delta State.

"No doubt, His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has performed well in infrastructural delivery. But considering the resources accruing to the state, I shall do far better because unlike him, I have no godfather but I have God as a Father," he stated.

Legislative Agenda and Collaboration

The ZLP candidate further disclosed that his administration would work closely with the party's National Assembly and House of Assembly candidates to implement policies aimed at improving the welfare of Deltans. According to him, the party's legislative agenda would focus on strengthening the education and healthcare sectors while expanding road infrastructure across the state.

Key Party Candidate Highlighted

Nkwoala specifically highlighted the role expected to be played by the party's House of Assembly candidate, Sir Aghogho Green Meretin, whom he described as a grassroots mobilizer and former Majority Leader of Ethiope West Council. He noted that Meretin and other party candidates would support efforts to institutionalize free education, improve access to free healthcare services, and drive aggressive infrastructural development aimed at improving living standards across Delta State.
