APC Chieftain Emphasizes Unity and Cohesion for Party's 2027 Electoral Success
Alhaji Saidu Ugonoh, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governorship aspirant in Kogi State, has issued a compelling call to the newly elected members of the party's National Working Committee (NWC). He urged them to prioritize unity and reconciliation among all aggrieved party members, aiming to present a cohesive and formidable force ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Commendation for Convention Leadership
In a statement released by his media office, Ugonoh, who also holds the traditional title of Santuraki of Ebiraland and is a US-based businessman, praised the dedication and commitment of key figures involved in the APC's recent national convention. He specifically commended Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, who served as the Secretary of the APC 2026 National Convention Planning Committee, for his exemplary leadership.
Ugonoh highlighted that Governor Buni, alongside the convention chairman and former Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, executed their responsibilities with the highest sense of commitment and responsibility. This commendation came as the committee presented certificates of return to the newly elected NWC members in Abuja on Thursday.
Appeal for Party Solidarity and Strategic Mobilization
Further congratulating the recipients of the certificates, the APC chieftain extended his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all party organs across the nation for their steadfast support of Governor Buni during the convention planning process. He stated, "Obviously, the President has shown the way and Governor Mai Mala Buni has delivered strategically."
Ugonoh emphasized the critical importance of unity and cohesion within the party structures, particularly as the newly elected NWC members assume their roles. He stressed that this opportunity to serve the party at such a pivotal moment must not be taken for granted. Efforts must be intensified to address the concerns of all aggrieved party members nationwide, fostering an inclusive environment.
Looking ahead, he called on the NWC to take ownership of party campaigns and mobilization efforts for President Tinubu, in collaboration with structures at the state, local government, and ward levels. "We must leave no stone unturned on our march towards the 2027 presidential election to deliver a resounding landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for a second tenure," Ugonoh asserted, noting that this is essential for consolidating the reform gains already achieved.
Call to Action for National Leadership
In his concluding remarks, Ugonoh urged the National Chairman of the APC to lead the charge alongside his team to ensure the party emerges victorious in the 2027 elections. He framed this as a way to justify the trust placed in the NWC members by party faithful. "This is the only way to justify the trust our party members reposed in you as the National Working Committee members. On this, we kindly call upon the National Chairman to lead the charge along with his team to ensure APC comes out victorious in 2027 insha'Allah," he concluded.
