Bill Clinton Testifies on Viral Hot Tub Photo from Epstein Files

Former US President Bill Clinton has publicly addressed, for the first time, a widely circulated photograph from the Jeffrey Epstein files that depicts him in a hot tub with an individual whose identity is obscured. The testimony occurred during a deposition before the House Oversight Committee in Chappaqua, New York, on Friday, February 27, where the 79-year-old former president responded to inquiries about the recently released image.

Clinton's Account of the Hot Tub Incident

During the four-and-a-half-hour deposition, Clinton stated, "I don't think I ever knew the photo was taken," and expressed that he was "almost sure" the photograph was captured at a hotel in Brunei. This location was part of the final segment of an Asian tour for his AIDS initiative. Clinton explained that he had previously established a relationship with the Sultan and Prime Minister of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, during his presidency.

He recounted that upon learning of Clinton's visit, Sultan Bolkiah offered assistance with the AIDS initiative and insisted that Clinton stay at a particular hotel, recommending he use the pool facilities. "So I did," Clinton said. "And then I got out and went to bed exhausted."

Additional Photos and Clarifications

The Department of Justice's recent release of files, mandated by the Epstein Files Transparency Act, included another photograph showing Clinton swimming in a pool with Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell. During the deposition, Clinton clarified that he only swam briefly in the pool and hot tub before retiring for the night. He noted that he could not identify the person photographed with him in the water but recalled the presence of a Secret Service agent in the room.

Emphatically, Clinton asserted that the woman in the hot tub photo was not under 18 years old and denied having any sexual relations with her. The release of these documents aims to make all files related to Epstein's sex trafficking investigation publicly accessible and searchable.

Context of the Epstein Files Release

The trove of photos and documents also features images of Clinton posing with various celebrities, such as Mick Jagger, Diana Ross, and Michael Jackson. It is important to note that Jagger and Ross have not been implicated in any wrongdoing. This testimony marks a significant moment as Clinton addresses the ongoing scrutiny surrounding his associations with Epstein, providing his perspective on the viral hot tub photo that has sparked widespread public interest.
