The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asserted that the extensive adherence to Monday's sit-at-home order across various parts of the South-East region serves as undeniable proof that residents cannot be intimidated into abandoning the group's detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu. In a statement released by the organization, IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful characterized the exercise as achieving "total compliance across Biafraland," commending South-East inhabitants for their steadfast loyalty.

This civil action was initiated by IPOB as a show of solidarity with traders at the Onitsha Main Market, following the closure of their shops by Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo. Although the state government subsequently reopened the market after a one-week shutdown, reports indicate that only a minimal number of traders resumed operations at their stalls. The situation reflected broader regional sentiments, with major roads appearing largely deserted and offices, businesses, and educational institutions remaining closed, particularly during the morning hours.
