In a significant political development, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, and the immediate past Chairman of the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Abbas, have publicly endorsed Rabiu Suleiman Bichi for the vacant Deputy Governor's position in Kano State. This endorsement was formally announced in a statement released on Monday by the Organising Secretary of the APC Legacy Group, Malam Indo Kwarin Albarka, and disseminated to journalists in Abuja.

The motion to appoint Bichi as Deputy Governor was reportedly moved during a stakeholders meeting by former APC state chairman Abdullahi Abbas and seconded by the deputy state chairman, Salisu Maje Ahmad Gwangwazo.
