In a Sallah message broadcast live on Friday, Governor Yusuf urged residents to uphold the teachings and virtues of resilience, kindness, self-awareness, and patience that were cultivated during the 30 days of Ramadan. Governor Yusuf reassured the public of his administration's unwavering commitment to delivering good governance and quality leadership. He stated that the Kano First Agenda remains the top priority, taking precedence over any selfish influences or conflicting interests. The governor called for patience and unity among all ethnic and religious groups in the state, reiterating his mandate to ensure unity, peace, and the protection of lives and property.

Parallel Eid Prayers Led by Emirs Sanusi and Bayero Amid Emirate Tussle

Meanwhile, the Eid al-Fitr prayers in Kano were marked by a significant development as two major congregational prayers were led separately by the 15th and 16th emirs of Kano, highlighting the resurgence of the protracted emirate tussle. Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II led thousands of Muslims at the popular Kofar-Mata Eid ground, while hundreds of worshipers joined Emir Aminu Ado Bayero at the Nassarawa mini palace to observe the two-unit prayers marking the end of Ramadan.

In his sermon after leading the prayers, Emir Sanusi urged the faithful to continue demonstrating discipline, patience, charity, and devotion beyond the holy month of Ramadan.
