Kwara CAN Organizes Special Easter Prayers for Senator Saliu Mustapha and Supporters
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kwara state conducted a significant prayer session on Monday, April 6, 2026, specifically for Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central Senatorial District, along with other notable individuals who have supported the Christian community. This event took place during the Kwara CAN Easter Picnic Programme at Budo Jesu in Ilorin, the state capital, as part of the Easter 2026 celebrations.
Bishop Adewole Praises Senator Mustapha's Consistent Support
Bishop Sunday Timothy Adewole, the state chairman of CAN, addressed the gathering, highlighting that the prayers were a gesture of appreciation for Senator Mustapha's unwavering support and goodwill towards Christians in Kwara. Despite being a Muslim, the senator has been described as dependable and accommodating, consistently providing assistance when needed and actively promoting religious harmony.
"Senator Saliu Mustapha deserves commendation. He is always there for us and consistently comes through whenever he is needed, despite being a Muslim," Adewole stated. He further noted that the senator contributed to this year's Easter celebration by providing hundreds of packs of customised table water, drinks, and fuel for transportation, among other essential items.
Primate Olobatoke Leads Divine Prayers for Protection and Prosperity
Primate (Dr.) M.S. Olobatoke, founder of the Resolution Church of Christ, led the special prayers, invoking divine protection, sustained prosperity, and greater elevation for Senator Mustapha and other contributors. "I pray that no hand of the enemy will ever touch you. Wherever the resources you use to support us come from, may they never run dry, in Jesus' name," he prayed.
He added, "No power of this world or of the enemy shall overcome you. Wherever you aspire to reach in life, may God take you there, and may you not fall on your journey to glory. Your work and business shall not fail. As you seek higher positions, may God grant your desires and elevate you."
