Dr. Christopher Kolade's journey began on December 28, 1932, in Erin Oke, Osun State, where he was born to an Anglican priest. His educational foundation was laid at Emmanuel Primary School (1939-1943) and Christ's School (1944-1945) in Ado Ekiti, followed by Government College, Ibadan from 1946 to 1951.
He pursued higher education at Fourah Bay College in Sierra Leone, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1954 and a Diploma in Education in 1955. This solid educational background prepared him for a multifaceted career that would span education, broadcasting, diplomacy, and corporate leadership.
Trailblazing Career Across Multiple Sectors
Dr. Kolade began his professional journey as an Education Officer in pre-independent Nigeria, contributing significantly to the country's educational development. He later joined the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (now Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria), where he eventually rose to become Director General.
His transition to the corporate world saw him join Cadbury Nigeria Plc in 1978 as Administration Director. His exceptional leadership qualities led to his appointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, and later as Chairman of the company.
From 2002 to 2007, Dr. Kolade served as Nigeria's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, where he showcased Nigerian excellence in diplomacy and international relations.
