NNPP Reacts to ADC Leadership Crisis, Faults Kwankwaso
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has publicly attributed the ongoing leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the actions of its former presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso. In a strongly worded statement issued in Lagos, the party's National Secretary, Mr. Ogini Olaposi, detailed the allegations following recent developments that have shaken the opposition party's structure.
INEC's Withdrawal of Recognition
This controversy erupted after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the withdrawal of recognition from the ADC leadership, including former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, who served as chairman and secretary respectively. INEC cited a Court of Appeal order directing the maintenance of the status quo within the party, a move that has sparked widespread political debate and internal strife.
NNPP's Allegations Against Kwankwaso
Reacting to this development, the NNPP stated that the situation within the ADC was not unexpected. The party alleged that the crisis stems directly from internal political decisions linked to Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and some of his close associates.
