Deputy Senate President Empowers Kano North Constituents with 47 Cars and 287 Motorcycles
In a significant move to bolster grassroots support and alleviate economic hardship, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has disbursed 47 vehicles and 287 motorcycles to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his Kano North Senatorial district. The distribution event, held on Wednesday, targeted local government chairmen, secretaries, and other key party stakeholders, reinforcing the senator's commitment to human and capital development in the region.
Aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda
Speaking through Salihu Sagir Takai, the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Senator Jibrin emphasized that this intervention is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. Takai, a former governorship candidate in Kano State, highlighted that the initiative aims to reduce poverty and improve the welfare of constituents at the grassroots level. He explained that the vehicles and motorcycles are intended to ease economic challenges and enhance the livelihoods of beneficiaries, fostering self-reliance and sustainable income generation.
A Commitment to Ongoing Development
According to Takai, this is not the first such intervention by Senator Jibrin, and it will certainly not be the last. He noted that more empowerment programmes are in the pipeline, underscoring the senator's dedication to continuous support for his constituents. The Chief of Staff to the Deputy President of the Senate, Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdullahi, described the gesture as a capital-intensive effort designed to lift beneficiaries out of poverty. He urged recipients to use the items productively for income generation rather than selling them, emphasizing the importance of long-term economic stability.
Strategic Distribution and Future Plans
Barau's media aide, Shittu Madaki, confirmed that the items were carefully distributed to selected beneficiaries, ensuring that the empowerment reaches those most in need. This strategic approach aims to maximize impact and support community development. The initiative reflects a broader effort to stimulate growth and improve living standards in Kano North, with leaders expressing confidence in the positive outcomes for the region's economy and social fabric.
