Senators Extend Eid-el-Fitr Greetings and Commend Nigerian Armed Forces
In a series of goodwill messages marking the conclusion of Ramadan, two prominent Nigerian senators have extended heartfelt congratulations to Muslim faithful across the nation and beyond on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr. The messages, issued by Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, representing Lagos West Senatorial District, and Abdul'aziz Musa Yar'Adua, representing Katsina Central Senatorial District, emphasized spiritual renewal, national unity, and support for the country's security forces.
Senator Adebule's Message of Unity and Hope
Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, who previously served as the deputy governor of Lagos State, commended the Muslim Ummah for their unwavering devotion, sacrifice, and commitment to spiritual renewal throughout the holy month of Ramadan. She described the fasting period as a profound time of deep reflection, self-discipline, compassion, and renewed faith in Allah, highlighting its significance in fostering personal and communal growth.
Adebule urged Muslims to sustain the core values imbibed during Ramadan, such as patience, humility, love, and generosity, noting that these virtues are essential for building a peaceful and progressive society. She called on all Nigerians, regardless of religious or ethnic differences, to continue promoting unity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect. The senator stressed that the spirit of Eid-el-Fitr should inspire hope, harmony, and a renewed commitment to national development, even in the face of ongoing security and socio-economic challenges.
While acknowledging the difficulties facing the nation, Adebule encouraged citizens not to lose hope but to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and supportive of efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability. She expressed confidence in the capacity of the current administration to address these challenges and urged Nigerians to continue praying for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Nigeria.
Senator Yar'Adua's Tribute to Armed Forces and Call for Support
In a separate message, Senator Abdul'aziz Musa Yar'Adua congratulated Muslims on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, thanking Almighty Allah for granting the faithful the strength and grace to complete the holy month. He described Ramadan as a period of deep reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal, urging Muslims to sustain the virtues of patience, compassion, charity, and unity cultivated during this time, which he noted are vital for national cohesion and development.
Yar'Adua also paid a special tribute to the Nigerian Armed Forces, commending their continued sacrifices in safeguarding the country's territorial integrity and protecting citizens. "We must continue to rally support for our Armed Forces, whose courage and resilience in the face of security challenges remain commendable. With sustained professionalism and dedication, we are confident of overcoming insurgency and achieving lasting peace," he stated.
The senator further called on residents of Katsina Central and Nigerians at large to support ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening peace and security, emphasizing that development can only thrive in a stable environment. He concluded his message with prayers for divine acceptance of the Ramadan fast, forgiveness of shortcomings, and renewed blessings for the nation.
Both senators' messages underscore the importance of religious observance, national unity, and security in Nigeria, reflecting broader societal values during this festive period.
