Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has congratulated the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor, on his 74th birthday, describing him as a priest with excellence and distinction.
Governor Soludo's message was contained in a statement released on Sunday, September 13, 2026, by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime. The governor eulogised Bishop Ezeokafor for devoting his life to the service of God and humanity through decades of priestly devotion.

In the statement, Governor Soludo highlighted Bishop Ezeokafor's long service to the church, noting that he was ordained a priest in 1984 and served as Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese from 2007 to 2011. The governor said the bishop continues to lead the diocese with distinction, pastoral wisdom, and unrelenting commitment.
“Having been ordained a priest in 1984, Bishop Ezeokafor served as Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese from 2007 to 2011 and continues as the bishop of the diocese with distinction, pastoral wisdom, and unrelenting commitment. Bishop Ezeokafor has today become a living testimony of divine possibilities,” Soludo said.
The governor also described the bishop as a respected spiritual father, a consistent advocate of peace, unity, and development, and a steady moral voice whose leadership enriches the faith community and the larger society in Anambra State and beyond.
