Tinubu Support Group Distributes Ramadan Aid to Muslims in Akure
The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has conducted a charitable outreach program, distributing food items and cash to its members and the Muslim community in Ondo State in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr. This initiative is part of the group's ongoing efforts to support its members and foster community welfare during the holy month of Ramadan.
Charitable Gesture Aligned with Islamic Teachings
According to the Director General of the group, Ademola Adegoroye, the distribution was designed to align with Islamic principles of charity and compassion during Ramadan. Adegoroye, represented by former Ondo State deputy governor Lasisi Oluboyo, emphasized that the gifts reflect the Quranic injunction to assist the needy. He stated, "The gift items are in consonance with what the Quran enjoins Muslims to do during Ramadan, to give out to the needy. TSG, led by Adegoroye, decided to give some items to the needy of the Muslim faith to felicitate with them for the month of Ramadan."
Encouraging Political Participation
During the event, Oluboyo further advised Muslim communities to engage more actively in politics to better access the benefits of democracy and good governance. He specifically urged Muslim women to participate in political processes, highlighting their potential to drive development within families and communities. This call to action underscores the group's broader goal of empowering marginalized groups through civic involvement.
The distribution took place in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, and targeted both TSG members and the wider Muslim population. The initiative not only provided immediate relief but also reinforced the importance of social responsibility and community solidarity during religious observances.
