Tinubu Support Group Delivers Key Message to Appointees During Ramadan Iftar
The leadership of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has issued a significant directive to all members who have secured appointments in the Bola Tinubu administration. They are urged to extend patronage and support to fellow supporters, fostering a spirit of mutual assistance. This message was conveyed during a recent event in Abuja, highlighting the group's commitment to collective progress.
Limited Appointments and the Call for Shared Support
Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, the Director General of TSG, addressed a large gathering at the grand finale of the group's free Ramadan feeding program. He reminded attendees that due to the limited number of appointive positions available in the government, not all members can be appointed. However, he emphasized that those who have been appointed should make every effort to carry along as many support group members as possible, distributing patronage and reinforcing unity.
Dr. Yakasai stated: "One thing that all of us must remember is that we all cannot be appointed because of the limited number of appointive positions available in the government. Few of us who got appointed should do everything humanly possible to carry as many members of the support groups as they can along to distribute patronage and support one another, as well as the President’s efforts to reward party faithfuls."
Ramadan and Lent as Catalysts for Unity
The event, which brought together support group leaders, Muslims and Christians, party officials, government appointees, and youth leaders, also featured remarks from Hon. Mercy Almona-Isei, a former federal lawmaker from Delta State. She highlighted the coincidence of Ramadan and Lent as a teaching moment for Nigerians on the essence of unity and peace, which she described as essential for progress.
Hon. Almona-Isei added: "We pray and ask Nigerians to come together in love and support Tinubu's second term as the president of Nigeria once more because this man has done well and we should continue to support him to do more and bring Nigeria to a better place."
TSG's Role and Benevolent Initiatives
Founded by Hon. James Faleke in 2020 to rally support for President Tinubu, TSG played a major role in his candidacy and the 2023 presidential election. Dr. Yakasai expressed gratitude for Faleke's support, noting that since the start of this year's Ramadan, Faleke has backed the organization's daily free iftar distribution of food and drinks across the Federal Capital Territory. This initiative has helped many individuals observe Ramadan and Lent with dignity, particularly those who might otherwise struggle to afford meals.
The statement released on Tuesday, March 17, underscores TSG's ongoing efforts to reward party faithfuls and maintain cohesion within the support network. As the group continues to advocate for unity and shared prosperity, this message serves as a reminder of the importance of collective support in political movements.
