Uba Sani Commends Tinubu for Approving Over N1 Trillion Contract in Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for approving contracts worth over one trillion Naira that are set to transform the economic and social landscape of the state. In a personally signed statement released on Friday, the Governor praised the Federal Executive Council for granting approval for these transformative infrastructure projects.

According to Governor Sani, the centerpiece of these initiatives is the Kaduna Light Rail Project. This ambitious undertaking includes a 30-kilometre corridor from Rigachikun to Sabon Tasha, along with a 20-kilometre line from Millennium City to Rigasa, forming a 50-kilometre metropolitan network valued at approximately One Trillion Naira. Complementing this is the reconstruction of the Mando–Kaduna–Birnin Gwari road, a 122-kilometre artery with an estimated cost of ₦178 billion.

Sani emphasized that these projects represent more than just infrastructure investments; they constitute a deliberate effort to re-engineer mobility, security, and economic vitality across Kaduna State. He noted that the Federal Government's support for the light rail project is both historic and catalytic, reinforcing the state's vision of an integrated transport ecosystem. This vision is anchored by the ongoing 24-kilometre Bus Rapid Transit system and a comprehensive State Transport Policy that prioritizes efficiency, safety, environmental sustainability, and affordability.

The Governor highlighted initiatives such as subsidized Compressed Natural Gas buses, modern terminals, and structured transit corridors, which are systematically positioning Kaduna as a premier hub for transportation and logistics. He expressed pride that Kaduna has been selected as only the second state in the federation to embark on a light rail system, reflecting confidence in the state's vision and execution capacity.

Regarding the Mando–Birnin Gwari road rehabilitation, Sani recalled President Tinubu's visit to Birnin Gwari before the 2023 general elections, when the area was plagued by insecurity and neglect. The President's promise to address these issues is now being fulfilled. The road will enhance connectivity, strengthen security, boost agricultural productivity, and restore confidence to long-isolated communities.

Governor Sani reaffirmed Kaduna State's commitment to the diligent execution of these projects, viewing them as enduring legacies that will build a more prosperous, secure, and connected future. He thanked President Tinubu for his steadfast commitment to Kaduna State and the equitable development of the nation.
