Femi Whyte Declares for House of Reps in Kwara, Vows Inclusive Representation
Whyte Declares Reps Bid in Kwara, Promises Inclusive Rule

Hon. Femi Agbaje Whyte, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, promising effective representation and people-centred development.

Declaration Event

Whyte made the declaration on Thursday in Offa, where party leaders, traditional rulers, and supporters gathered to show their support. He described his ambition as a product of conviction and long-standing commitment to community service, rather than a last-minute political decision.

He stated that the constituency deserves a representative whose presence would be felt in Abuja and across all communities within the federal constituency. Whyte outlined key priorities of his proposed representation, including legislative advocacy, attraction of federal projects, and empowerment initiatives targeted at youths, women, farmers, and small-scale traders.

Key Priorities

According to him, human capital development would remain central to his agenda, with a determined focus on creating opportunities and improving livelihoods across Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun local government areas. Whyte also stressed the need for unity in the constituency, noting that equitable distribution of projects and inclusive governance would guide his approach if elected.

He pledged to maintain accessibility and accountability by establishing constituency offices across the three local government areas and ensuring transparency in the management of public resources.

Political Trajectory

On his political trajectory, Whyte hinted at broader ambitions but maintained that his immediate focus remains serving his people, regardless of the office he eventually occupies. He assured that he would not abandon the community, emphasising that leadership requires collective effort and sustained engagement.

“I am not a seasonal politician. I have always been part of the community, supporting and contributing where necessary. The trust people have in me did not start today,” he said.

He added that the confidence shown by constituents over time gives him optimism about their continued support ahead of the 2027 general elections. Whyte urged party members, stakeholders, youths, and women to support his aspiration, noting that his candidacy represents an opportunity to deepen development and strengthen representation in the constituency.

The event drew a cross-section of APC stakeholders and community members, reflecting early mobilisation efforts ahead of the party’s primaries.
