Gbenga Daniel Accuses Ogun Governor of Intolerance, 3-Man Cabal Rule
Daniel: My Suspension Due to Abiodun's Intolerance

Senator Gbenga Daniel has publicly accused Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun of running a three-man cabal government that cannot tolerate inclusive governance, explaining this as the real reason behind his recent suspension from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Political Clash Over Governance Style

The former Governor and current Senator representing Ogun East made these revelations during his Midterm Community Assessment and Review Tour in Ijebu-North on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Daniel was suspended alongside Hon. Kunle Folarin by the state party leadership over alleged anti-party activities, though the APC's National Working Committee has since declared him a bona fide member in a letter dated November 17, 2025.

The senator expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his timely intervention in resolving the party crisis, noting that the president's action had prevented tensions from escalating beyond repair. He emphasized his loyalty to Tinubu's second-term bid for the 2027 elections.

Victimization and Development Sabotage

Daniel described Ogun State as being governed by a closed three-man system where anyone offering constructive criticism faces victimization, persecution, and threats including demolition notices on properties. He revealed that even traditional rulers, community leaders, and teachers face retaliation for interacting with government critics.

The situation has escalated to affect critical infrastructure projects, particularly the Itanrin General Hospital Road project in Ijebu-North. Daniel explained that this federal project, part of President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, has received a stop-work order from the local government chairman allegedly under pressure from the state government.

The state government erroneously believes the federal contractors are my contractors, and in line with their agenda of removing anything associated with me, the project must be frustrated, Daniel stated.

Imminent Deadline and Consequences

The senator issued a stark warning that if the stop-work order isn't revoked by December 2025, the federal funding for these roads will be lost and returned to the treasury. He described this potential outcome as the height of political pettiness that would punish the people of Ijebu-North due to personal grievances between him and the governor.

Daniel made a passionate appeal to traditional rulers and community leaders to intervene with the governor, emphasizing that hundreds of roads require state attention, making the sabotage of these two federal interventions particularly unjustifiable.

He contrasted the current administration's approach with his own tenure as governor, highlighting achievements like establishing the Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic in Ijebu-Igbo and completing the multi-campus system of Olabisi Onabanjo University. As senator, he has facilitated solar street lights, motorized boreholes, and sponsored bills for a Federal Medical Centre in Ijebu Ode.

The BATOGD Movement remains committed to developing Ogun East and supporting President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, Daniel concluded, vowing not to be distracted by political witch-hunts.
