Ongoing Security Challenges in Katsina

Katsina State continues to grapple with severe security challenges brought about by the activities of bandits and terrorists, witnessing a series of attacks in recent times. Just last week, bandits attacked two communities in Musawa and Dandume local councils, killing 14 persons and injuring many others. In early February, bandits also attacked Doma community in Faskari Local Council, resulting in more than 20 fatalities and numerous injuries.

Despite these persistent threats, security operatives have been making concerted efforts to tackle the challenge. A successful operation about three weeks ago led to the killing of 45 bandits in Danumusa Local Council, highlighting ongoing counter-insurgency measures.

The state government remains actively engaged in bolstering security frameworks to protect citizens and restore lasting peace across the region.
