4 Bandits Arrested with 65 Cows in Kaduna

Security forces in Kaduna State have scored a significant victory against cattle rustlers with the arrest of four armed suspects and the recovery of 65 stolen cows.

Dawn Raid Based on Credible Intelligence

The operation was executed by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Kaduna State Police Command in the early hours of Saturday, January 10, 2026. Acting on a tip-off about suspected bandit and rustler activities, the operatives stormed the Kakura area in Chikun Local Government Area.

The police spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the successful raid in a statement issued on Sunday. The swift action led to the apprehension of the four suspects at the scene.

Suspects and Stolen Herd Identified

The arrested individuals have been named as Ibrahim Shuaibu (alias Magaji) and Buhari Ibrahim, both from Kakura. The others are Musa Haruna from Gora and Abdullahi Idi from Dan Damisa in Zaria.

A total of 65 cows, believed to be stolen property, were recovered from the suspects during the operation. Preliminary investigations revealed that two of the detainees, who are cattle rearers, confessed that the herd was brought to them by a wanted suspect known as Kyauta from Izuwa.

DSP Hassan noted that Kyauta is currently at large, but emphasized that concerted efforts are underway to track and arrest him.

Police Reaffirm Commitment to Security

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, has commended the operatives and used the opportunity to call for continued public support. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and provide timely, credible information to aid the fight against kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities.

CP Muhammad assured residents of Kaduna State of the command's unwavering commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against criminal elements to ensure all perpetrators are brought to justice. The four suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
