In a decisive counter-operation, troops of the Nigerian Army, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), and local volunteer forces successfully foiled a large-scale attack by bandits on Tuesday, targeting the communities of Bagna and Erena in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger state. According to reliable security sources, as a large contingent of bandits, estimated to be over 300 strong and armed with dangerous weapons while riding motorcycles, attempted to storm the communities, the joint security forces and volunteers executed a well-coordinated ambush.
