Emeka Ike appeals to government over insecurity, says road travel no longer safe
Emeka Ike: Road travel no longer safe due to insecurity

Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has made a heartfelt appeal to the Nigerian government and security agencies to intensify efforts in addressing the rising insecurity across the country. Speaking while addressing security operatives, the actor expressed his deep concern over the deteriorating security situation, particularly on the nation's roads.

Road travel now a risky adventure

Emeka Ike, known for his roles in classic Nollywood films, stated that he has always enjoyed traveling by road. However, he lamented that this preferred mode of travel has become unsafe due to the activities of bandits and other criminal elements. "I love road travel, but today I am denied of my best form of travel. So many Nigerians love to have it on the road, but we are no more safe," he said.

Call for urgent action

The veteran actor urged authorities not to allow the situation to worsen. He noted that while his own children may not be directly affected at the moment, many other families are already suffering the consequences of the insecurity. Emeka Ike emphasized the need for a collective effort to stop the killings and bandit attacks that threaten the future of the country. "Let's stop this killing. Let's stop bandits from taking over our country. If our country is taken, where will all of us work?" he questioned.
