Gunmen have abducted a 10-year-old boy, Abdullahi Isa, from his family home in Andarashi village, Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, and are demanding a ransom for his release, security analyst Zagazola Makama reported.
Attack Details
The incident occurred at approximately 5:20 pm on July 25, 2026, when four armed men stormed the residence of Bukar Umar. The attackers were armed with bows and arrows, cutlasses, and sticks. They forcefully abducted the victim before fleeing to an unknown destination.
Ransom Demand
The kidnappers later contacted the family by telephone and demanded a ransom for the boy’s release. Police authorities have since deployed operatives to the area. The Officer-in-Charge of the State Investigation Department (SID) was directed to begin technical tracking of the telephone number allegedly used by the kidnappers.
Police Response
“The police said efforts are ongoing to rescue the victim unharmed and apprehend those responsible for the abduction,” the report stated. The abduction adds to a series of kidnapping incidents in Yobe State, raising concerns about security in rural communities.
