Tragedy Strikes Nasarawa Royal Family
In a devastating incident that has sent shockwaves across Nasarawa State, suspected bandits have brutally murdered a prince and two young men from Duglu community in Obi Local Government Area. The attack occurred on Monday, November 10, 2025, along Itsiga road in Doma Local Government Area, where the assailants not only took three lives but also made away with the victims' motorcycle.
Victims of the Brutal Attack
The victims include Prince James Delle Iwala, who was the son of the late Zhe Duglu, HRH Chief Jonathan Gule Iwala. The late chief was a highly respected traditional ruler of the Migili ethnic group who passed away in March 2024. The other victims have been identified as Tailor Guyu, popularly known as Rev Father, and Andy Zona Zacharia.
According to local reports, the three men were traveling to a neighboring community to offer condolences when the armed attackers ambushed them. The tragic incident has left the entire region in mourning and has raised serious concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the state.

The killings have sparked significant anger among young people in the area, with many demanding external intervention to address the persistent insecurity problems. Local youths have expressed their frustration, alleging that Nasarawa State has become a safe haven for bandits who are fleeing intensified military operations in neighboring states.
This growing concern comes at a time when the state government is already dealing with multiple security challenges. The recent attack on Sarkin Noma community in Keana Local Government Area, which also resulted in loss of lives, has further complicated the security landscape.

The Nasarawa State Government has responded to the crisis by calling for calm while promising decisive action. In a statement signed by Peter Ahemba, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs, the administration made it clear that it would not tolerate criminal elements disrupting the state's peace and security.
The government has directed security operatives to urgently identify and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for these attacks. Ahemba emphasized that the administration is fully aware of the gradual infiltration of criminal elements into the state and is working closely with security agencies to address any emerging threats effectively.
The government spokesperson reiterated the administration's commitment to protecting citizens' lives and property, urging residents to report any suspicious activities or individuals to security agencies immediately. He assured the public that enhanced security measures are being implemented through collaboration with security agencies and relevant stakeholders.
Ahemba strongly condemned the midnight attack on Sarkin Noma residents and similar incidents in the area, confirming that security agencies have received directives to ensure the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible. He concluded by emphasizing that no effort would be spared to maintain the relative peace achieved under Governor Abdullahi A. Sule's administration.
