Survivor Mourns as Pastor, Family Killed by Bandits Laid to Rest

A devastating tragedy has struck the Choji family in Plateau State, as Rev. Ayuba Choji, his wife Chundung Ayuba, and their two children, Cyril Ayuba and Endurance Ayuba, were laid to rest on April 30 after being killed by bandits.

Attack on Gako Village

In the late hours of Sunday, April 26, into the early hours of Monday, April 27, gunmen attacked Gako Village in Riyom Local Government Area. Residents described the incident as a fresh wave of violence in the region. The bandits killed the pastor and three members of his family while they slept.

Survivor's Grief

The only surviving son, Weng Choji, took to Facebook to express his grief and share photos from the funeral service. Four white caskets containing the bodies of his loved ones were placed in the middle of the compound during the service.

Weng thanked God for sparing his life but expressed deep pain at losing his entire family. He called for the souls of his deceased relatives to cry for revenge. The post has drawn widespread sympathy and condemnation of the attack.
