A commercial driver, Jibrin Mohammed, has been killed by suspected terrorists on the New Bussa-Ibbi road in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. The attack occurred around 10pm on Sunday as Mohammed and six traders were returning from the Sabon-Pegi weekly market.

Details of the Attack

A witness told Daily Trust that Mohammed, also known as Dogon Bodies, drove into a roadblock mounted by the attackers. The terrorists opened fire, killing the driver instantly. Three traders sustained gunshot injuries, while three others were abducted.

The witness stated: “Terrorists suspected to be members of the Lakurawa group in large numbers blocked the Ibbi–Patiko–New Bussa road around 10pm yesterday (Sunday). They operated for several hours. Jibrin was killed, and three of his passengers sustained serious injuries and three others were kidnapped.”
