Zamfara Guards Arrest Eight Terrorist Collaborators in Gusau Operation
Operatives of the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards (CPG) have apprehended eight individuals suspected of collaborating with terrorists in Gusau, marking a significant breakthrough in the state's ongoing security efforts. The commandant, AIG Muhammad Shehu Dalijan (retired), disclosed this development while presenting the suspects to journalists at the CPG headquarters in Gusau, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Interception of Dangerous Materials
During the operation, the guards intercepted a vehicle transporting three brand new motorcycles, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), and a substantial sum of cash totaling N13,500,000. These items were allegedly en route to terrorists in Bindin, a community located within Maru Local Council of Zamfara State. In addition to these findings, authorities recovered 98 sticks of dynamite, 25 detonators, and 25 coils from the suspects, underscoring the severity of the threat.
Dalijan emphasized that the seized materials are believed to have been intended for exchange with gold, a tactic often used by terrorist groups to fund their activities. He further noted that the exhibits were suspected to be planted along roads with the malicious intent of targeting and killing security personnel, posing a direct risk to public safety.
Legal Proceedings and Security Vows
Following a preliminary investigation, the suspects are set to be handed over to the police for appropriate legal action, ensuring that justice is served. Dalijan vowed that the CPG would continue its relentless efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, asserting that "terrorists have no hiding place in the state." This commitment reflects the broader strategy to enhance security and protect citizens from ongoing threats.
Police Assurance for Farming Season

The 36th Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Mohammed Bello, provided this assurance during a courtesy visit to the Press Centre of the Zamfara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Gusau.
