Troops deployed under Operation Enduring Peace have successfully rescued five kidnap victims during a search-and-rescue operation in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The operation, conducted by personnel from Sector 7, Sub-Sector 71, took place in the early hours of Sunday.
Discovery During Patrol
According to security sources, troops on routine patrol at approximately 6:15 a.m. noticed a vehicle parked by the roadside without any occupants along the highway at Ungwan Gora village in Sanga Local Government Area. This observation prompted an immediate search-and-rescue operation in the surrounding bushes.
Rescued Victims Identified
The operation led to the rescue of five abducted individuals: Moses Samuel, 24; Samuel Timothy, 20; Godwin Audu, 14; Mohammed Mustapha, 20; and Mohammed Sale, 26. The victims were believed to have been kidnapped by unidentified criminals before troops intervened.
Medical Evacuation
Two of the rescued victims sustained injuries during the incident and were evacuated to the General Hospital in Gwantu for medical treatment. Their conditions are reported as stable.
Search for Missing Persons
Preliminary investigations revealed that two other passengers remain unaccounted for. Military authorities have intensified search efforts in the area to locate and rescue the remaining missing persons.

Security sources emphasized that this operation is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities along major highways and in rural communities.
