A 19-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly raping two sisters, aged 11 and six, in Abia State. The incident was reported by a Facebook user, Vivian Chigbu, in a post on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
Details of the Assault
According to Chigbu, the 11-year-old victim is currently receiving treatment as her womb was affected during the alleged sexual assault. The younger sister, aged six, was also assaulted. Chigbu called on the state government to expedite the establishment of a rehabilitation centre for victims.
Public Appeal for Justice
“A boy of 19yrs old defiled and raped two minors. The 11 yrs old is receiving treatment as her womb is affected. May God help us all,” she wrote. She appealed to Governor Alex Chioma Otti, saying, “His Excellency Dr Alex Chioma Otti, please we need the rehabilitation centre as soon as possible. Hon Hon Dennis Rowland Chinwendu, the bill cannot just be passed into law, we need implementation sir. Our girls are being raped and defiled on daily basis and we have nowhere to keep them. Those girls are passing through trauma.”
