Justice Jude Obiora of an Anambra State High Court has granted bail to embattled Nnewi-based native doctor Ikechukwu JohnPaul Ezenagu, popularly known as “Mmuo Mmili Afuluanya,” in the sum of N50 million with one surety.

Bail Conditions

Other bail conditions include the deposit of the title document to his home, which would be forfeited if the defendant jumps bail, and an order not to talk to the press while the trial is ongoing.

Legal Representation

One of the counsels to the defendant, Barrister Kingsley Awuka, who spoke after the court proceedings, said the court was gracious in granting the bail, and deservedly so. He added that the bail conditions are what the defendant can meet, and that they are confident that justice will take its course.
