A 30-year-old British holidaymaker was arrested after allegedly attempting to kiss a male air steward on the neck during a Ryanair flight from London Stansted to Majorca, Spain, on June 29.
Incident on board
According to reports, the man was heavily intoxicated when he began causing problems and flirting with the cabin crew member. The pilot radioed air traffic controllers at Palma Airport shortly before landing, requesting police presence due to the alleged sexual assault.
Police boarded the aircraft immediately after it landed and arrested the suspect after the steward confirmed plans to file a complaint. However, the steward initially declined to press charges, leading to the suspect being released after identification.
Arrest and court appearance
The tourist had already left the plane and passed passport control when the steward changed his mind and agreed to make a formal statement. The man was arrested the following day while attempting to board his return flight and was taken to court.
He was released on bail pending an ongoing investigation into the incident. The suspect appeared before a judge and is subject to further legal proceedings.
