Casket Maker Collapses and Dies in Abuja Brothel During Visit
A casket maker, whose identity has been withheld, tragically died after collapsing at a brothel in Kubwa, located within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Abuja. The incident occurred over the weekend at a facility situated in the Kukwaba area of this satellite town, which reportedly operates as both a guest house and a brothel.

According to reports, the man had visited the establishment to meet a female friend. Neighbors who spoke to the media alleged that he collapsed before he could leave the premises. The woman promptly reported the incident to the hotel manager, who then alerted the Kubwa Police Division. Police officers arrived swiftly at the scene and rushed the man to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was later certified dead.
During a follow-up visit to the Kubwa Police Division on Monday, officials confirmed the occurrence of the event. A police source disclosed that three individuals—the female friend, the hotel manager, and the hotel owner—were summoned to the station to provide statements. After cooperating with the investigation, they were released. The source further added that the deceased's family requested the release of the body, which was granted for burial arrangements.

A correspondent visited the deceased's home, located opposite the NNPC junction in Kubwa, but was unable to locate any family members. It was reported that they were traveling with his remains to his home state of Cross River for burial, indicating that the family had taken charge of the funeral proceedings following the tragic event.
When contacted for comment, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Kubwa, CSP Paul Lazarus, stated that he was not yet aware of the incident but promised to investigate the matter and provide updates. This response highlights ongoing police scrutiny into the circumstances surrounding the death, although initial reports suggest no foul play was immediately suspected.
