A 25-year-old Chicago man, who was eagerly anticipating the birth of his second child, was brutally beaten to death outside a local bar, prompting a homicide investigation by the Chicago Police Department. Alexander “Xander” Kazanowski, a model based in Illinois, succumbed to blunt force trauma after being discovered unresponsive in the Avondale neighborhood in the early hours of March 25.

According to reports from WGN-TV, Kazanowski had been asked to leave the bar, Tune-Up, due to comments he made. After exiting the establishment, he engaged in a verbal altercation with a group of individuals outside. Shortly thereafter, he was found in critical condition around 3:20 a.m. and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died days later from his injuries.
Cook County Crime Stoppers confirmed that Kazanowski's body exhibited signs consistent with a fatal beating. The Chicago Police Department has since released security footage showing four persons of interest entering the bar on the night of the incident. The suspects are described as three African-American males and an Asian female, though it remains unclear if the video was captured before or after the alleged assault.

Kazanowski's partner, Tori, shared a poignant tribute on her Instagram Story, reminiscing about their life together. His family described him as a man with an “unrelenting entrepreneurial spirit,” a deep love for God, and a modern-day Renaissance man. In his obituary, they wrote, “Xander lived life at full speed and with a rare intensity. While his time with us was cut far too short, he lived more in his twenty-five years than many do in a lifetime.”
They further emphasized his unique character, stating, “No description could possibly do justice to Xander’s character. He possessed a natural charisma that enlivened every room he entered.
