Police in Zambia have arrested two co-wives in connection with the alleged murder of a woman suspected of having an affair with their husband. The two suspects, Musa Samutumwa, aged 24, and Ireen Nasilele, aged 32, appeared before the Lusaka Magistrates' Court in Zambia.
The court heard that Samutumwa and Nasilele, residents of the Westwood area, are accused of forming a violent tag-team that resulted in the death of Josephine Ngulube. It is alleged that the two women beat Ngulube after suspecting her of being their husband's mistress.
During the explanation of the charge, the accused, who appeared calm in the dock, told the court that they understood the offense they are facing. The matter has not yet been committed to the High Court for plea and trial. The two are expected to reappear for possible committal on Monday, May 4, 2026.
