Delta Police Arrest Drug Baron, Two Accomplices in Warri

The Delta State Police Command has achieved another major success in its ongoing fight against illicit drug trafficking and substance abuse, arresting a suspected drug baron and two accomplices in the Warri metropolis. The breakthrough was announced in a statement on Monday by the command's Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.

According to the statement, operatives from the Area Command in Effurun acted on credible intelligence about suspected drug dealers operating in the Ogbomoro and Ugolo communities. On May 7, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., the police conducted a covert operation that led to the arrest of 25-year-old Favor Isaac, along with two female accomplices: Favour Felix, 24, and Samson Precious, 19.

During the operation, officers executed a search warrant at the suspects' hideout along River Road in Ogbomoro. Recovered items included 21 bottles of CSC Codeine, two canisters of Nitrous Oxide (commonly known as laughing gas), two packs of suspected psychoactive chewing gum branded as Highness Gum, and 640 grams of substances believed to be Canadian Loud, concealed in various bags and containers.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one Rukewe Tega Isaac, who remains at large, is allegedly the main supplier behind the drug network. The command stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and other members of the syndicate.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police for Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the command's dedication to sustained aggressive operations against drug trafficking and other criminal activities. Oyeniyi emphasized that the abuse and circulation of illicit drugs are major drivers of violent crimes and social vices among youths. He urged the public to continue supporting the police with timely and useful information to help rid the state of criminal elements.
