Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, has reportedly ordered the immediate closure of Stephrica Guest Palace Hotel located in Kureken Sani, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano. The order followed complaints from residents over alleged activities at the hotel.
Emirate Council Directs Closure
The Emir issued the directive through the Kano Emirate Council under the leadership of Aliyu Ibrahim Matawalle, the Galadiman Kano, after reviewing petitions submitted by community members. The council carefully considered concerns raised about the hotel's operations and decided to address them to maintain peace and order.
Hotel to Be Converted into Hospital or School
Alongside the closure order, the Emir directed the hotel management to convert the facility into either a hospital or a school to better serve community needs. The Emirate Council explained that such a conversion would be more beneficial, particularly in healthcare and education.
Community Leader Commends Intervention
Malam Muhammad Sabi’u Yahaya, chairman of the Kureken Sani Community Development Association, commended the council, calling the intervention timely. He noted that community members had petitioned over suspicious movements involving minors at the property. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the community, stating the action was appropriate.
Emir Sanusi Calls for EU Support in Kano
In a related development, the Emir of Kano called on the European Union to extend support to Kano state and critical sectors in Nigeria, including security, education, and healthcare. Speaking at a reception for EU Ambassador Gautier Mignot on June 14, Sanusi emphasized investing in girl-child education for social progress and sustainable development. He stressed that collaboration between local institutions and international partners could accelerate development and improve living conditions.
Sanusi Criticizes Tinubu on Subsidy Removal
